SaloneSatellite: The objective of SaloneSatellite is to strengthen the links between research, design, and industry. It is open to designers under the age of 35 and aims to facilitate the contact between businesses and young designers ready to enter the profession and market after finishing their studies.

SaloneSatellite also exhibits work from design universities and schools. This involvement is geared toward staying current with how the educational system is changing around design, what priorities are indicated to students and research processes, how students’ intellectual and practical abilities are stimulated, and thus their understanding of the problems and consequences of certain production methods.
The SaloneSatellite Award, which debuted in 2010, is another avenue to connect new designers with businesses.
The exhibition also serves as a reminder that the world of design has evolved dramatically in the previous two decades, and that the young designers who participated in SaloneSatellite were able to predict the new temperatures of “planet design” with insight.

Selection applications are only open to designers under the age of 35 at the time of the event, showing fresh prototypes that have not been constructed and, of course, have not been commercialized. Students are not permitted.
