AD100 2023 is out and the debut list will be our topic today. AD100 is an Architectural Digest initiative that enlists the world’s most innovative professionals, studios, and collectives engaged in interior design, architecture, and decor. The design industry never stops, and we are consistently delivered ground-breaking projects with a unique perspective on the world. Every day new cities and new modes of existence and self-expression are brought to us, and the AD100 list is crucial as a result allowing us to know more about the most creative experts in the design world.

AD100 2023 Debut List

1. Alexis Brown

Alexis Brown was born and raised in Washington, DC, and earned her master’s degree in interior design from Pratt, she had been working for more than ten years in the office of Peter Marino, and in 2017, she formally established her own business, specializing in residential projects. To achieve a sophisticated aesthetic, Alexis Brown attempts to use both fine art and handcrafted, artisanal components in every home.

Through her worldwide collaborations with renowned artists and artisans, she has developed a sophisticated perspective on color, materiality, and space.

2. Hadley Wiggins

Hadley Wiggins is an interior and architectural designer with offices in New York City and the North Fork of Long Island. Her design, which frequently incorporates antiques, shows her conviction that authenticity and history are fundamental components of value and beauty.

Each of Hadley’s projects is unique because she thinks that our houses should reflect the things that inspire and beautify us, and the finished product should be a true reflection of the occupants and how they live their lives.

3. Halard-Halard

Halard was raised in the design industry and attended school in Paris for both architecture and furniture design. He chose to engage with eminent art galleries with offices in Paris because of his interest in both modern and contemporary art. Halard relocated from Europe to New York in 2004 to work for some of the top designers and architects there, establishing Halard – Halard Design, his own design studio, in 2010.

The synergy between the classical language and modern sensibility is emphasized in Halard‘s work. The firm’s style and spirit are influenced by the study of regional vernaculars, as well as by the use of quality materials and attention to craftsmanship.

4. Josh Greene

Before starting Josh Greene Design, Josh, who has over 18 years of expertise in the field, worked for notable companies like MR Architecture + Décor, Ralph Lauren, Michael Smith, and Sawyer Berson. He has earned a spot on the yearly list of the best interior design businesses, Elle Décor’s A-List, as well as Architectural Digest’s Ones-to-Watch list.

Based in New York Josh Greene Design Takes a collaborative approach to creating chic spaces that strike a balance between utility, refinement, warmth, and comfort. Josh approaches each project as an opportunity to create unique environments that are personalized to each client, using a flexible and open-minded approach to design together with an ever-expanding range of influences.

5. JP Demeyer & Co.

The Belgian designer and artist Jean-Philippe Demeyer is inspired by nature and finds it in gardens, museums, fashion, and old-world houses. Jean-Philippe Demeyer is renowned for his imaginative, fun, and vibrant textile creations that are frequently sewn together layer by layer through patchwork. Alongside his two business/domestic partners, Frank Ver Elst and Jean-Paul Dewever, he manages his Bruges-based business.

His signature elements include fringes, flowers, and eyes. His distinctive aesthetic is also evident in a variety of product designs, including a sunburst carpet for the Codimat Collection, accessories for Svenskt Tenn, a seating collection for Collett & Victor, and, new for 2023, a namesake fabric line and a website for custom-made pillows.

6. Justina Blakeney

Justina Blakeney has showcased her daring and varied vision of beauty since she started blogging in the late aughts. Blakeney has collaborated with Opalhouse by Target, Loloi Rugs, Valdese Weavers, and Peking Handcraft since the release of Jungalow in 2014 on collections that infuse homes with a subdued maximalist flair.

The jungalow is a physical representation of her freedom to pursue her creative visions. Concept after idea, room after room, and design after design, according to her, the pattern is the flavor of design, color can make people happy, and good design improves the quality of life.

7. Neal Beckstedt Studio

Neal, who was born and raised in a small Ohio community, founded his name-brand firm in New York City in 2010 after more than ten years of working as an architect and designer in the city. In addition to having his debut project appear on the cover of New York Spaces, Neal was chosen by Architectural Digest as one to watch in 2012. Several partnerships with eyeglasses designer Robert Marc and apartments for fashion designer Derek Lam are notable projects.

Providing comprehensive services for both residential and commercial clients, Neal Beckstedt Studio is a boutique architecture and interior design firm. By combining old, modern, and custom items, this warm modernist signature aesthetic is created. The studio designs distinctively contemporary environments that are filled with comfort and ease for each project.

8. Rita Konig

Working on both commercial and residential projects, Rita Konig Ltd. is an interior design firm, based in London but working globally. Since she started her company 17, her design philosophy is centered on her customers, and each home she creates is founded on an in-depth comprehension of the unique brief.

Because she firmly thinks that a space should be as functional as it is attractive, she starts every project by considering the intended purpose of the room. The company collaborates with clients to design unique, hospitable environments that go beyond current trends.

  

9. SO-IL

SO-IL, a Brooklyn-based firm, established by the husband-and-wife pair Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu, has pioneered the way for a new generation of architects by questioning the status quo in perplexing structures of all kinds.

They investigate how designing spaces and things might foster long-lasting, constructive involvement in the mind and in society.

10. Studio Mellone

Brazilian interior designer Andre Mellone has his base in New York. A 20-Year Vet of the Cityy’s Design Community, he had worked for Robert A. M. Stern, Mark Hampton, Greg Jordan, Ferguson$Hamamian, and many more before founding Studio Mellone in 2012.

The studio primarily focuses on private homes and residences while also developing a complementary portfolio of projects for retail, business, and product design.

11. Young Huh

Young Huh, a native of Detroit, attended the Cranbrook School and graduated from Smith College with a degree in English before earning a law degree from Fordham University. Young realized her true purpose while pursuing more education and an internship in interior design. In 2007, she established her own design company in New York City.

Young Huh Design is a full-service design company with a focus on both residential and business interiors. The goal of Young Huh’s work is to achieve harmony and dynamism by combining traditional and contemporary design ideas.
