Milan Design Week 2026 reaffirmed its role as the global reference point for contemporary design, where leading international brands converge to present new collections, material innovations, and conceptual directions that define the industry’s next cycle.
This year’s overarching narrative, “Liquid Luxury vs. Raw Power: A Sensory Journey by Home’Society & Friends”, structured the entire experience as a dialogue between two contrasting yet complementary design forces: refined, fluid luxury on one side, and raw, architectural material intensity on the other. The result was a curated exploration of sensory design, where surfaces, textures, and spatial compositions became the primary language of expression.

A competitive landscape of global design leaders
Within the broader context of Milan Design Week 2026, several internationally recognised brands such as Duravit, Axor, Hansgrohe, Roca and Agape also presented strong collections, reinforcing the high level of competition and innovation across both Salone del Mobile and Salone del Bagno.
However, the most conceptually cohesive and narratively driven contributions came from Home’Society & Friends and its selected partners, whose presence structured a significant part of the experience and interpretation of this year’s theme.
Salone del Mobile: refined material intelligence
At the Salone del Mobile, BRABBU emerged as a key protagonist, presenting a series of new collections centred on fluidity, continuity, and material refinement. The brand’s installations explored seamless transitions between architectural surfaces and functional elements, reinforcing a vision of luxury defined by tactility and spatial coherence.
Alongside it, Rug’Society played a fundamental role in translating the conceptual framework of the event into material expression. Its contribution extended across both stands, acting as a unifying element between different environments and reinforcing the dialogue between softness and structural intensity.
Salone del Bagno: experiential spatial design
At the Salone del Bagno, Maison Valentina introduced a strong reinterpretation of the bathroom space as an immersive, sensory environment. The presented collections moved beyond functional design, positioning water, texture, and light as core components of spatial experience.
The proposals aligned directly with the “Liquid Luxury” dimension of the theme, transforming the bathroom into a curated environment where precision engineering and emotional design coexist.
Conceptual balance: Liquid Luxury vs. Raw Power
Across both exhibitions, Milan Design Week 2026 was defined by a deliberate contrast between two design languages. “Liquid Luxury” was expressed through fluid geometries, polished surfaces, and seamless integration, while “Raw Power” manifested in more structural, tactile, and materially expressive installations.
Home’Society & Friends and its partners occupied a central position within this narrative, translating the concept into a coherent design language that connected multiple spaces and disciplines.

Milan Design Week 2026 demonstrated a clear shift toward experience-led design, where material intelligence, narrative coherence, and sensory engagement define value. While the broader industry showcased strong contributions from major international players, the most distinctive interpretation of this year’s theme came from the curated ecosystem of Home’Society & Friends, which successfully positioned itself at the intersection of concept, material, and experience.
