ELLE Decoration and D3SIGN CAPSULE‘s latest project will be our topic today. For its 35th anniversary, ELLE Decoration wanted to create a connection between design and the new digital art forms. The goal of this event, which took place during Paris Design Week, was to develop links between design and contemporary digital art. A digital artist and an architect-designer collaborated to produce collections for D3SIGN CAPSULE, which imagines the world of decoration in the digital future.

ELLE DECORATION AND D3SIGN CAPSULE

 

With the D3SIGN CAPSULE, ELLE Décoration fuses decoration with Web3 (metaverse, NFTs, blockchain, artificial intelligence…). In order to work with a renowned digital artist, the magazine asked 15 designers, decorators, and architects. The resulting partners have each created virtual creations that are genetically modified with their own DNA. These pieces, organized into 15 collections, were on display from September 10 to September 18 at Archives Nationales (Hôtel de Soubise), one of the most exquisite private homes in the Marais, in a scenography designed by Sam Baron. Some have chosen to design a tangible item or piece of furniture as a logical extension of their NFTs. In addition to the digital works, these sculptures will be displayed.

To sell the digital works of the artists’ duos they have created a dedicated gallery on the SuperRare marketplace. Where an auction system will allow each collector to bid on the desired work, and to be able to bid, you must first have a crypto wallet (like Metamask) on which is stored the Ether (ETH) that you will use to buy the NFTS of D3SIGN CAPSULE.
