Alice Aycock: Discover her most iconic massive installations
Alice Aycock is an American Sculptor and Installation artist. Her internationally successful career started at the beginning of the 70s, with exhibitions all around the world: Museum of Modern Art, National Gallery of Art, Louis Vuitton Foundation, MoMA and many others.
The artist’s public sculptures can be found all over the U.S. but in this article, the focus will be on her massive installations that completely challenge the ideas of industrial aesthetics. Following irregular and organic shapes, Aycock creates unique structures with a balanced design, which was the concept developed for her six sculptures in the Park Avenue, providing a feeling of energy in movement.
“Paper Chase” pieces, along Park Avenue in Manhattan, transcend gravity laws, floating like tops above the otherwise mundane gorunds of public spaces.
