Milan Design Week: The exhibition titled Swedish Design Movement is organized by Svensk Form and the Swedish Institute as part of the Swedish government’s Swedish Design Movement project, and it is creatd and developed by Adorno, a digital design store and gallery.

The Exhibition debuted the project’s dedicated website on June 7th, during Milan design week, and is showcasing the work of 18 Swedish sustainability-focused firms working in product design, architecture, and fashion.

White Arkitekter
Sara kulturhus is a timber development in Skellefte, northen Sweden, designed by White Arkitekter and finished last year. It features the world’s second-tallest wooden tower. The multifunctional, 20-story structure is made of wood harvested from the town’s woodlands. It houses a hotel, as well as a theatre, gallery, library, and museum.

Virtual visitors from all over the world will be able to stroll up the great staircase past works by Swedish firms like David Design, Fogia, Reform Design Lab, and VERK.

Fashion

The virtual building’s main hall will feature fashion pieces by A NEW SWEDEN, Atacac, maxjenny! and Swedish Stockings, as well as architecture projects by Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects, Kjellander Sjöberg, Tham/Videgård, White Arkitekter, and Wingårdhs.

Exhibition’s Goals

The Swedish Design Movement hopes that the virtual exhibition provides a museum experience without the hassle of “transportation, travels, or long line” for design fans.
Its goal is to create an appealing platform for industry participants looking to expand their international presence while simultaneously promoting global sustainable development, which promotes Swedish exports.
